System Components

The PI-3105 is an integrated subsystem, comprising the following components:

Please see below for several sample configurations, then contact our sales department for further assistance in configuring a system.

They PI-3150 requires several timing signals (frame-sync, line-sync, and pixel clock) that can be provided either by the PI-2005 Pattern Generator or by a third-party pulse/pattern generator.

* These items are in development, and will be available shortly.

Sample Configuration 1:

Four-channel data acquisition system for FPA testing:

Qty Item Description
Analog components
4 PI-3150  Pre-amplifier Module (Dewar-mount)
1 PI-3100  Acquisition Interface Module (AIM)
4 PI-41010  Gain/Filter Board
4 PI-41040-0  14-bit, 10 MHz A/D Converter Module
1 PI-3103A Analog Power Supply
CompactPCI Components
1 PI-11008 CompactPCI Instrument Mainframe with image-processing CPU Card with Windows 2000 and PI-Controller software
1 PI-41110 4:1 Digital Multiplexer Card
1 PI-41000-512 Dual Channel Digital Acquisition Card with 512 MB DRAM
1 PI-41100-4 Timing/Control Card with 4 timing channels

The system described above will acquire data from a 4-output focalplane array mounted in a Dewar. Four pre-amplifier modules, attached directly to the Dewar, will drive the inputs of the Gain/Filter stages and A/D modules in the AIM.

Four digitized outputs from the AIM will be multiplexed into a single input of the Digital Acquisition Card, and then transferred to the CompactPCI CPU for processing and display.

The Timing and Control card in the CompactPCI chassis will control of gain, filtering and strobe timing for each channel as well as the global offset.

PI-Controller software is included.

Sample Configuration 2:

Eight-channel acquisition system with CDS for CCD testing:

Qty Item Description
Analog components
8 PI-3151 Pre-amplifier Module (PCB-mount)
2 PI-3100  Acquisition Interface Module (AIM)
8 PI-41010  Gain/Filter Board
8 PI-41040-1  14-bit, 10 MHz A/D Converter Module with CDS
1 PI-3103  Analog Power Supply
CompactPCI Components
1 PI-11008 CompactPCI Instrument Mainframe with image-processing CPU Card with Windows 2000 and PI-Controller software
2 PI-41110 4:1 Digital Multiplexer Card
1 PI-41000-512 Dual Channel Digital Acquisition Card with 512 MB DRAM
1 PI-41100-16 Timing/Control Card with 16 timing channels

The system described above will acquire data from an 8-output CCD mounted on a test fixture board. Eight board-mounted pre-amplifier modules will drive the inputs of the Gain/Filter stages and A/D modules in two AIMs.

Four digitized outputs from each AIM will be multiplexed into each of two inputs on the Digital Acquisition Card, and then transferred to the CompactPCI CPU for processing and display.

The Timing and Control card in the CompactPCI chassis will control of gain, filtering, strobe timing, and CDS timing for each channel as well as the global offset.

Sample Configuration 3:

16-channel acquisition system for FPA testing:

Qty Item Description
Analog components
16 PI-3151 Pre-amplifier Module (PCB-mount)
4 PI-3100  Acquisition Interface Module (AIM)
16 PI-41010  Gain/Filter Board
16 PI-41040-0 14-bit, 10 MHz A/D Converter Module
2 PI-3103  Analog Power Supply
CompactPCI Components
1 PI-11008 CompactPCI Instrument Mainframe with image-processing CPU Card with Windows 2000 and PI-Controller software
4 PI-41110 4:1 Digital Multiplexer Card
2 PI-41000-512 Dual Channel Digital Acquisition Card with 512 MB DRAM
1 PI-41100-16 Timing/Control Card with 16 timing channels

The system described above will acquire data from an 16-output FPA mounted on a test fixture board or Dewar. 16 pre-amplifier modules will drive the inputs of the Gain/Filter stages and A/D modules in four AIMs.

Four digitized outputs from each AIM will be multiplexed into each of two inputs on each Digital Acquisition Card, and then transferred to the CompactPCI CPU for processing and display.

The Timing and Control card in the CompactPCI chassis will control of gain, filtering and strobe timing for each channel as well as the global offset.
